Quality Christian Education for all gradesMountain View Christian Academy (MVCA) is a fully staffed educational facility offering four and five year old kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school grades. We are a member of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) and the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS). MVCA offers important advantages for every child enrolled: a basic Christian philosophy of education, high academic standards and the proper emphasis upon morals, discipline, patriotism and character.

All that is said and done in the classroom is done on behalf of the parents, because ultimately the responsibility for the education of children resides with their parents. The full purpose of Christian school education is to help parents fulfill the counsel of the wise and powerful Proverb that says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6. Our Mission The mission of MVCA is to provide a quality, comprehensive, academic program with a Christian worldview in a loving Christian environment for children of all ages. Curriculum The A Beka curriculum is the basis for all classroom instruction and is suitable for students who are average or above and capable of working in a classroom situation on grade level. Being distinctly different and Christian, we begin each school day with prayer. However, the integration of Bible into our curriculum does not make us a Christian school. We teach Christian principles and character, and we maintain certain dress codes and disciplines which arise from our Biblical convictions. In addition to the standards, MVCA includes the moral training of your children as its curricular responsibility. Each subject, whether it is math, science, or history, is taught from a Christian viewpoint following the basic premise that if there is any truth in any subject, it must be God's truth, since He is truth. The Bible is the center of our curriculum, around which all other subjects revolve. The A Beka curriculum stresses the phonetic approach to reading as well as traditional mathematics. College preparatory courses are also taught in our High School. Athletic Program Athletics at MVCA is an integral part of the school’s educational program. We believe a strong athletic program is vital to the success of achieving our God-given purpose. Athletics is the foundation for building school pride and school spirit. We encourage our student body to be involved in our athletic program through both active participation and support the endeavors of their classmates. MVCA competes in the 1A region 1 division of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) in the following sports; Volleyball, Basketball, Golf, and Cheerleading. Fine Arts The Fine Arts program of MVCA is based on the principal that every student has a gift with which they are able to serve the Lord. Fine Arts serves to help each student receive a well-rounded education and develop those gifts for God's glory. Through speech class, choir, dramatic productions, competitions, and various ministry opportunities, students are challenged to strive for excellence in all things. Fine Arts provides the opportunity for the students to prepare for whatever field God may have for their future. Our guiding motivation is summed up in I Peter 3:15- "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" You may tour our Academy and receive information by calling: (864) 463-8888 Monday—Friday from 8:00AM—4:00PM http://www.mvcacowpenssc.com/
